He was a son of the late Thomas and Emelia (White) Long. Surviving are his wife, Odessa (Bastarache) Long; son, Vernon (Kim), Prospect; grandsons, Wesley, Alberta; James DeBow (Joni), and great-granddaughter, Kelly, all of New Jersey; granddaughter, Amanda; great-grandson, Harrison, Halifax; sisters, Rita (Mrs. Omar Gaudon), Newfoundland; Mona Ross, North Sydney; brother, Joey Long, Toronto, Ont. He was predeceased by his infant son, Terence; sister, Evelyn Long; brothers, Frank and Percy. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Father Johni Mathew officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
