Ronald "Guy" Rohne May 18, 1944 - August 06, 2005 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Ronald (Guy) Wayne Rohne, 61 years of age, on Saturday, August 6th, 2005 at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband and life partner to Marilyn. Devoted, supportive Dad to Lisa (Darryl), Colleen (Jack), Sonny (Mary-Tyler) and loving, doting Papa to Raelyne, Amber, Bradon, Alexander and Karl. Others left to cherish his memory are special uncle Leif (Lorrette) Rohne, special aunt Bernice Zillman, Sister-in-Law Bev (Neil), nephew Darren (Wendy) and family, niece Nikki (Wes) and family as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, business associates and neighbours. Dad was predeceased by his Mom Sadie in 2002, Dad Frank in 1974, in-laws Virginia and Alfred Barker, special friend Derek Snider as well as other numerous extended family members. Dad was born in Winnipeg on May 18, 1944. He lived most of his life in Inwood except for the few short years that he ventured into Winnipeg to work at Northern Messenger. While working in the city he met the love of his life Marilyn. They were married in May 1966 and in January 1968 moved back to Inwood to settle and began raising their family. He went back to work with his Dad running the family business, Interlake Water Supply. After Papa Franks death in 1974, Dad took over the family business and for the last 31 years has continued to serve the Interlake and surrounding communities. During this time he has met many wonderful people and made many lasting friendships. The third generation of the family business will continue. Dad was very involved in his community. He was an active member of the Inwood Elks Lodge, Manitoba Water Well Association, Canadian Ground Water Association, and past board member of South Interlake Credit Union as well as being involved in many community events and organizations. Dad’s professional life was very important and dear to him but his family was his greatest pride and joy. Making memories was a very important part of who he was and we all have so many special memories to hold close to our hearts. Family gatherings were always held at Nana and Papa’s house. He enjoyed being a host and family, friends, and neighbours were always made welcome in their home. Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling. The looked forward to their trips to the city to play loonies, winter getaways to Arizona with Allan and Elaine Bruce, family vacations, camping trips and special planned outings with the grand kids. Mom has always been his partner in business and best friend in life. He was very proud of his kids and grand kids and all of their accomplishments. He could often be found in the coffee shop sharing stories of his family’s recent events and telling a joke or two. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Albert Strick, Bev Sherred, Art Dupont, Jim Mikula, Gordie Strick and Howie Strick for their assistance, Teulon District Ambulance Service for their quick response and care provided to Dad as well as for the comfort they provided for Mom. Also thanks to Dr. Pillay and nurses Donna, Sally, Cheryl and Maureen at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Honourary Pallbearers will be Ken Hanssen, Wilfred Maskow, Russell Nordin, Allan Bruce, Bill Van Linge, Albert Strick, Clark Meyers, Harold Cochrane, Bill Schofield and Elks Lodge Members. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13th, 2005 at Inwood Community Hall at 2:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
