Mr. William Jonathan Reader October 23, 1985 - August 07, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) READER, William Jonathan "Jon" - 19, Halifax, died tragically on August 7, 2005, in Halifax. Born in Brampton, Ont., he was the son of Dave and Linda (Blakey) Reader. Jon graduated from Halifax West High School in 2003 and then took two years off to pursue his passion for travel, which included places like England, Lake Louise, Florida and New York. Jon was to attend St. Mary's University in the fall to study Commerce. He was an avid reader, snow boarder, skate boarder, surfer and loved music and hockey. He was known as a happy-go-lucky individual that enjoyed and lived life to its fullest - some times as a wildcat, always willing to take on a new challenge, jumping in with both feet. Besides his parents, Jon is survived by his brothers, Ben and Alex; grandparents, Jackie Reader, Halifax; Ted Reader "Grampa Ted", Corner Brook, NL; "Nanna" Phyllis Blakey, Sussex, England; uncle, Roger Blakey, Sussex, England; aunt, Catherine Reader, Halifax; cousins, Dylan Reader and Leigh Reader, both of Halifax; uncle, John Reader (Shelly); cousin, Whitney Thomas; aunt, Frances Creaser; cousins, Cynthia, Bruce, Robert and David. He was predeceased by his granddad, John Robert Blakey, Sussex, England. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 12, at Rockingham United Church, 1 Flamingo Dr., Halifax where a reception will follow. Burial will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 12, in Sunrise Park Interfaith Cemetery, Hatchet Lake for those wishing to attend.
