George Perfect April 04, 1928 - August 11, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home PERFECT – George John passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2005, with his wife Elizabeth by his side. George was predeceased by his parents Maisie and George and by two nephews Kenneth and Bill Steele. He will be sadly missed by his three sons Jim (Wanda); John (Leona) and Russell; his grandchildren Jim (Jen); Shauna and Devin; Janine and Jared; one great grandson Brayden; sister-in-law Gwen Steele and his nephew Scott Steele. George was born in 1928 at Lloydminster, SK. He spent his early childhood on his grandparents’ farm near Marshall, SK, a place that he loved and to which he returned to visit many times after he and his parents moved to Regina, SK. The family lived in North Annex where George made many friends. He attended Balfour Technical School at which he was to teach some years later. After graduating from Balfour he worked at G.H. Martin & Sons where he met another woodworker who was to become another lifelong friend. In 1948, George met his future wife Elizabeth Cross and they were married in 1950. George was a wonderful father to their three sons to whom he was a teacher, a helper and a friend. George began his teaching career at Regina Jail where he taught woodworking. After receiving his teaching certificate he taught at Balfour Collegiate and later at Cochrane High School. His retirement in 1985 gave him more time to enjoy his grandchildren and family life. George had many hobbies but his greatest love was woodworking – turning out many beautiful articles for family and friends. A CELEBRATION OF GEORGE’S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Lok who helped George in his long struggle with Alzheimers. Also our deepest appreciation to the staff at Pioneer Village 3-West whose kindness, care and concern for George and his family was appreciated more than they can know. Donations in George’s memory, may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301, 2550 – 12 Ave., Regina, SK S4P 3X1. Family and friends are invited to sign a book of condolences at www.obituariestoday.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850
