PARKES, BESSIE MARION - The death of Bessie Marion Parkes, wife of the late Lewis Parkes, of the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home occurred peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday August 14, 2005 at her residence. Born 1921 in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Owen and Ella (Patterson) Campbell. Bessie loved children especially all of her nieces and nephews. She always enjoyed attending mass at the villa. Bessie also enjoyed playing bingo. She lived in Sussex and Hamstead before moving to the villa. She is survived by three sisters Frances Mailman (John) of Barnsville, Mary O'Blenis and Ethel Ryan both of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Bessie was predeceased by brother William Campbell; sisters Claire McAuley, Margaret Dunphy and Gertrude Orr; a special friend Percy McKay. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday August 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
