James "Gouch" Philip Poirier April 23, 1947 - August 12, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) POIRIER, James Philip "Gouch" - 58, Lake Fletcher, passed away August 12, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII. He was the eldest son of Muriel Chrystina (Grandy) Poirier and the late Arthur "Frenchie" Wilfred Poirier. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Gail (McDonald); sons, James Jr., Sackville; Micheal (Reneé), Craig (Cindy), both of Lake Fletcher; daughters, Crystal (Robert), Bedford; Natasha, Lake Fletcher; stepson, Jeffrey, Dartmouth; sister, Irene (Richard) Cooper, Dartmouth; brother, Donald (Sue), North Vancouver, B.C.; several nieces and nephews. The light of his life were his grandchildren, Shauna Lynn Joyce (stepgranddaughter), Ryan Poirier, Jordan, Emerald and Jade McDougall. He will also be missed by his granddog, Morgan Poirier. Jim was predeceased by brother, Blair; sister-in-law, Corrine; niece, Wendy. Jim was passionate about the things he enjoyed in life, including his trade, plumbing, being the Pit Crew Chief for Brian Watson No. 9 Hobbystock racing, playing darts, his cottage that he shared with family in Notre-Dame, N.B., and happy hour anywhere with friends and family. Jim was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Dieppe No. 90, Waverley. A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses that helped Jim through his four year battle. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, in Waverley Legion with a reception to follow. No visitation by family request. Burial to take place at a later date.
