Mrs. Astrid Eva Bodil Gilmour (née Persen) April 26, 1909 - August 08, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Predeceased by her beloved husband A.T. "Tommy" Gilmour in 1982. Survived by her loving son Brian; nephew Gil Gilmour and family; niece Audrey Goran and family; and her dear friend Linda Walkem Hall. Born in Denmark, Astrid came to Canada with her parents in 1911 and grew up in Kenora. Maried in 1937, Astrid, Tommy and Brian moved to Vancouver in 1948 when Tommy was appointed Superintendent of Maintenance for Air Canada. Among her many accomplishments, Astrid was a 30 year volunteer at the Richmond General Hospital. She and Tommy were ardent square dancers and skaters. Living in Richmond, they commuted often to their camp on Okanagan Lake. Mrs. Gilmour had a long, productive and healthy life, and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Richmond General Hospital or the Western Canada Aviation Museum, Winnipg, Manitoba. A gathering will be held at the family home on August 27, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
