Mr. Ralph Stanley Eisener July 18, 1920 - August 14, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) EISENER, Ralph Stanley - 85, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully August 14, 2005, at home. Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., on July 18, 1920, he was a son of the late Charles and Eva Alfreda (Baker) Eisener. Ralph moved to Dartmouth in infancy. He attended schools in Dartmouth and Port Wallis and was employed by Simmonds Ltd. in Dartmouth. In March 1939, he enlisted in the Manchester Regiment (England) and trained as a machine gunner. He served in France from September 1939 until evacuated via Dunkirk on May 30, 1940. He was then transferred to the Canadian Army in England on October 23, 1941, with subsequent service in Sicily and Italy, then returning to Dartmouth at wars' end. He was employed with Canada Post in January 1946, attaining the position of Supervisor, Administration Services in the Nova Scotia Postal District. Ralph married Elizabeth "Betty" Cummins of Manchester, England on December 31, 1941, in Beverley Minster, Yorkshire, England. Surviving are sons, Charles Ralph (Faye), New York State; George Alfred (Christine), Dartmouth; Robert Stanley (Helen), Digby; daughters, Shirley Elizabeth (Wayne) McKay, Nictaux; Dr. Beverley Mae Eisener, Dartmouth; brother, Foster (Dorothy), and sisters, Marion Eisener and Shirley Eisener-Ross, all of Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Charles Norman Eisener. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 17, in Regal Road Baptist Church, at 2 p.m., Rev. Bryan Hagerman officiating with reception to follow. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
