Mrs. Marion Elizabeth Beveridge (née Smith) March 07, 1917 - August 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) BEVERIDGE (Smith), Marion Elizabeth - 88, St. Vincent's Guest House, Halifax, passed away Monday, August 22, 2005, in the home. Born March 7, 1917, in Shelburne, she was a daughter of the late J. Chandley and Blanche (Harris) Smith. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Maritime Tel & Tel in Shelburne and thereafter assisted her husband in his ministry at Shelburne, Shubenacadie, Lancaster, N.B., St. Andrew's, Sydney, St. Matthew's, Halifax and Imperoyal, Dartmouth. Since her husband's death, she had resided first at Parkland Estates and recently at St. Vincent's Guest House in Halifax. She had a strong religious faith and did not fear death, but welcomed it as a friend, looking forward to eternal life and reunion with her dear husband. She is survived by her siblings, Dorothy Morrison, Douglas, Arthur, Harold, Gerald, and many nieces and nephews, especially her husband's niece, Kathy Eisenhauer and nephew, John Beveridge, who were devoted to her. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Dr. G.A. Allan Beveridge; siblings, Lawrence, Earl, Donald, Wilfred, Gordon, Jean Kenney, Shirley Brannen, William. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Matthew's United Church, 1479 Barrington St., Halifax, Rev. Dr. Ross Bartlett officiating, assisted by Rev. Marion Innes. Interment will be held at a later date in the family plot in Shelburne. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax.
