OBITUARY JOZEF TOMASZUK Died peacefully on July 28, 2005 at the age of ninety-three. Devoted husband of Paola Valeri. Greatly loved father of Christine (David Oliver) and grandfather of Rebecca, James and Phillip Jozef. Born in 1912 at Bialystok, Poland. Polish Cavalry cadet and doctoral student in Warsaw. Serviced with the Polish Regiment of the British Army, fighting in North Africa and Italy; decorated for his contribution at the Battle of Monte Cassino. Received his doctorate in Ingegneria Industriale (Industrial Engineering) from the Politecnico di Torino. Married Paola Valeri in Cambridge, England, 1947. Arrived in Canada in 1953 where he worked as a professional engineer for Alcan until his retirement, designing pots for smelters in Canada and abroad. A service for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 1, 2005 at 2 pm, at the Mount Royal Chapel, Mount Royal Funeral Complexe, 1297, chemin de la Foret In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to McGill University, designated for the Faculty of Engineering.
