Gordon L. MORTENSEN

MORTENSEN, Gordon L. November 29, 1916 - July 31, 2005 Passed away peacefully on July 31, 2005 with his family by his side, Gordon L. (Mort) Mortensen of Ottawa at the age of 88. Loving husband of 63 years of Olive (Peg) nee Polite, devoted father of Janice, Jill (Peter Fridgen) and Jon (Melodie) and proud grandfather of Christopher, Jessica, Sarah, Kyle and Mathew. Predeceased by his daughter Judith Elaine, parents Jess and May Mortensen, brothers Roy and Allan and sister Marie. Gordon proudly served his country in Italy and Holland during World War II and attained the rank of Major with the B.C. Dragoons. He was a long standing member of the Gyro Club of Ottawa, serving 3 terms as president. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the Civic Hospital I.C.U. for their care and compassion. Family and friends may gather at Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa) on Thursday, August 4, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Chapel.
