DOBBINS, John Norman WWII Veteran - Canadian Air Force Passed away peacefully on August 3, 2005 in his 85th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jean. Dear father of Mary Ann (Mike), Richard (Donna), and Douglas (Debbie). Loving grandfather to Dacey (Robin), Allison, Carolyn, Christopher, Devin and Steven. Great-grandfather to Addison and MacKenzie. He obtained his engineering degree from Queen's University in 1949 and retired from Bell Canada after 33 years of service. A long standing member of both the Order of the Eastern Star, Capital City Chapter and the Free Masons, Rideau Lodge. Past Worthy Grand Patron, O.E.S. Will be forever remembered by family and friends for his pleasant manner and positive outlook on life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Rd. on Friday August 5th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Order of the Eastern Star Funeral Service in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Martin's Anglican Church, 2120 Prince Charles Road on Saturday August 6th at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
