CRAWFORD, Katherine (nee Blackmore) Kay passed away peacefully in Ottawa on August 5, 2005 after a short illness a the age of 84. She was a loving matriarch, and will be sadly missed by all. She leaves her three children and their families: Wanda, Ian, Monsiri, Benjamin, Neil, Lizette, Austin and Ryan (Victoria); George, Sheila, Janis, Jennifer, Olivier, Zephyr and Christopher (Montreal and St. Jean); Linda, Bryn, Sarah (Carp); her sister Jean and Ed McKenna; and her god-daughter Myrna Hardy (Ottawa). A Service of Thanksgiving for Katherine's life will be held at Glen Cairn United Church (140 Abbey Hill, Kanata) on Saturday August 13th at 2 pm, followed by a reception. A memorial will be held at a later date at Chalmers-Wesley United Church, Quebec City. Katherine was a retired teacher, an avid historian and genealogist, and a passionate reader. In lieu of flowers, donations to ABC Canada Literacy Foundation or the GAPE (Global Association for People and the Environment) would be appreciated.
