Stanley Mallett MCGILL

McGILL, Stanley Mallett B.A. (H) Suddenly at home on Tuesday, August 2, 2005, age 83. Born March 5, 1922 in London, Ontario. Stanley served during WW II in the R.C.N. as a Chief Petty Officer. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario and joined the glass industry where he worked as a salesman in Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley area. He joined Algonquin College (E.O.I.T.) in 1963 and worked until his retirement as a teacher and Department Head in Marketing and Management in the School of Business. Stan was an avid golfer, having achieved 8 holes in one! He was Chairman of the O.D.G.A., Chairman and President of the O.V.G.A. Chairman of the Juniors Programme of the Q.G.A., a member of the Board of Directors of the Q.G.A. and also was a Governor of the R.C.G.A. Husband of the late Marjorie Corrigan. Father of Beverley (Garth Taylor), Marilyn (Alan Kuttner) and Bruce (Mary). Cherished grandfather to Leanne, Gregory, Sean, David, Jeffrey and James. Predeceased by brothers Jack, Jim, Gordon and Don and sisters Betty and Helen. Survived by sisters Marjorie Cusack and Ruth Blackwell of London, Ontario. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, August 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, August 17 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow. For those wishing, donations may be made to the CNIB or the charity of choice. Sadly missed by family and friends. Back into the arms of Marjorie.
