Florrie Philomena Theresa RIGBY

MIESS, Florrie Philomena Theresa July 16, 1934 - August 10, 2005 Passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital at age 71, after a short battle with cancer. Florrie Miess beloved wife for 43 years of Douglas Miess. Loving mother of Patricia (Jeff Brinskelle) and Brian (Patsy Miess). Cherished nana to Heidi, Kylee, Erin, Aidan and Jacob of whom she was thinking of when she entered the hospital. Dear sister of Harry Rigby, Bill (Joan) Rigby, Kathleen (late Ben) Kaulback and the late Stephen (Theresa) Rigby. Sister-in-law of Ruth (George Thomson), Bobby (Lorna Miess), Margie (Joe Fitzpatrick) and the late Jean Mellinger and niece to Mae Rigby (Warren Comeau). Florrie will be remembered by her family, nieces, nephews and friends who knew her thoughtfulness, generosity and straight forward approach. The family offers their special thanks to the exceptional ICU medical staff of the Ottawa General Hospital for their kindness and wonderful care. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3000 Woodroffe Avenue (south of Fallowfield) Sunday, August 14th from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church, Fallowfield Monday, August 15th at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments in the Church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed to St. Patrick's Church, Fallowfield, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa General Hospital.
