Margaret Mavis FRANKLIN

SPROVIERE, Margaret Mavis (nee Franklin) At the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Wednesday August 17 2005. At the age of 71 Mavis passed away peacefully, after her valiant battle with complications related to Rheumatoid Arthritis. Born May 15, 1934 in Pendleton, Ontario. Predeceased by her loving parents: John S. Franklin and Margaret Jane Jenny Franklin. Beloved wife of John F. Sproviere, whose selfless devotion supported Mavis through her failing health. Proud and loving mother to her son John R. Major (Ottawa Citizen Director of Photography) and to her daughter Janet Lynn Sproviere. Good friend and mother in-law to Melanie Major and loving grandmother to Emily. Widely admired for her independence and determination, Mavis will always be remembered for her out-going nature, commitment to friendship, sage advice and love of all four legged animals. In her 56th year, she traded in her saddle for her beloved Nissan truck. Crossing miles of country, visiting friends old and new, her cowgirl spirit never weakened. Mavis had a way of attracting all kinds of people in to her life, each friend was a reflection of her dynamic personality. Mavis will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her many long time friends. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the health care team at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Donations to the Canadian Arthritis Society or The Queensway Carleton Hospital would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. A private funeral service will be held for the immediate family.
