HASTINGS, Donald A.J. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Donald A.J. Hastings, beloved husband of Antoinette (Salera) and cherished father of James. Don passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at the Montreal General Hospital on August 24, 2005 at the age of fifty-four after a courageous brief battle with lung cancer. Don devoted his life to the education of children as a teacher, an administrator, an evaluator of the International Baccalaureate Organization, a member of the executive and past president of the Association of Administrators of the English Schools of Quebec. Don served on several committees for Riverside School Board where he was currently working as principal of Greenfield Park Primary International School. Don was an exceptional human being - always a child advocate, and will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and by all who had the privilege to work with him. Visitation will take place at Maison Darche on Saturday and Sunday August 27 and 28 at 7679 Boul. Taschereau in Brossard from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Parish in Greenfield Park, Monday August 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. Published in the Montreal Gazette on 8/27/2005
