GALLAGHER, JOHN CHARLES - The death of John Charles Gallagher, loving husband of Ruth Florina (Gallant) Gallagher, occurred on August 26, 2005 at his residence. Born 1925 in Saint John he was the son of the late John Charles and Helena T. (Mahoney) Gallagher. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and had life time interest in trains dating back to his early career with C.P.R. He had worked for C.P.R. in his earlier years then worked for NB Liquor Corp for 24 years retiring in 1986. Besides his loving wife Ruth, he is survived by daughters Moira Wilson (Mark) of Saint John, Elizabeth (Beth) Fenwick (Mark) of Quispamsis and Colleen Baxter (Kirk) of Quispamsis; sister Mary Gallagher of Saint John; grandchildren Elizabeth, Michael, Stephen, Kevin, Andrew, Christopher, Scott, Adam and Luke; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by daughter Anne Louise; brothers Joseph Gallagher and Bernard Gallagher and sister Joan Arsenault, and one grandson John Wilson. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations on Monday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Assumption Church on Tuesday at 12:00 pm. Following cremation, interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
