Cheryl Lynn Robertson (née Van Kirk) August 07, 1944 - September 01, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) ROBERTSON (Van Kirk), Cheryl Lynn - 61, Dartmouth, died peacefully September 1, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born in Toronto, August 7, 1944, a beloved daughter of Trevora (Howell) and the late Max Van Kirk. Cheryl was an avid gardener, and made the best potato salad in the world. Cheryl was also a strong advocate of greyhound adoption, and believed that Pepsi is the single best drink sold. Cheryl was always laughing (snorting) and joking with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her father and brother, Ronnie. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Ian "Robbie", and children, Steve (Jill), Fall River; Ken (Brenda), Innisfil, Ont.; Kristine (Jeff), Victoria, B.C.; grandchildren, Alison, Sam, Rachel, and Megan; sisters, Laurie, Valerie, and brother, Max, all of Ontario, and sister, Donna, New Brunswick. She will always be known as our "little shittal" and held in our hearts forever. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Homes. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 3, at 9 a.m., Rev. Iain MacDonald officiating, followed by a reception, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Her ashes will be taken to Toronto at a later date to join her father and brother. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Lung Association of Nova Scotia. Extra special thanks to the nurses of 4 West at Dartmouth General Hospital.
