Lorne Lawrance Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home LAWRANCE – Lorne Mervyn “Dutchie” was born in Wilcox, SK on January 6, 1928 and passed away on September 1, 2005. He was predeceased by his father Dudley in 1955 and by his mother Lottie in 1987 along with three sisters Dorothy Tietsworth, Margaret O’Loughhlin and Bernadine Chupka of the USA. Lorne is survived by his brother Ronald (Doreen) and his nieces Lynn Bob) Urecko; Judy (Lee) Snobeck of Minneapolis and Carol (Vince) Frank of Belgrade, Montana; his aunt Evelyn Drew and many cousins. Lorne apprenticed under his father’s guidance and became a certified journeyman motor mechanic. When his father died, Lorne took over the business and over the years, he took many classes to upgrade his skills for the changing technologies which enabled him to work on all makes of vehicles and heavy farm equipment. As a young man, he played baseball with the Wilcox Cardinals and hockey with the Wilcox Co-ops. He also played Junior A Hockey with the Notre Dame Hounds under Father Athol Murray. In later life, he took up and enjoyed ballroom dancing. Special thanks to go our cousin Garry Drew who looked after Lorne and helped us through these trying times. Lorne was a very friendly person and he acquired many friends. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Mee officiating. INTERMENT to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK. Flowers gratefully declined.
