O'BRIEN, EDWARD JAMES - Of Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday September 2nd, 2005. He was born on November 23rd, 1916 in Little Bartibog, Northumberland Co. He was the son of the late William and Catherine Mary (Cheverton) O'Brien. Edward was a Veteran of World War II and served in the United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean Area and Continental Europe. Edward is survived by one brother, Benedict O'Brien of Miramichi City, NB; one sister, Elizabeth (Andrew) Godfrey of Saint John, NB; a sister-in-law, Margaret Wallace of Miramichi City, NB; and by a special niece, Shirley Godfrey Gardiner (Brian); and several nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his loving wife, Stella (Hayden); daughters, Sharon Ann, and Gail Ann; two brothers, Raymond and George Wallace; two sisters, Mary (Wallace) Gordon and Margaret Ann O'Brien. Funeral arrangements for Edward are under the professional care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424), with visitations being held on Tuesday evening, September 6th, 2005 from 7-9 pm. A Tribute to a Veteran will be held at 7pm, also on Tuesday evening. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 7th, 2005 at 11am from the Fundy Funeral Home "Chapel". Interment will follow the service in St. Josephs Cemetery.
