Vincent "Vince, Shaky" James Marr January 04, 1930 - September 06, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) MARR, Vincent James "Vince" "Shaky" - 75, Porters Lake, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 6, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital, with his loving family at his side. Born January 4, 1930, in Port Felix, Guysborough Co., he was the eldest son of the late Jerome and Mary (Wells) Marr. Vince joined the navy in 1949 and retired in 1974. He served aboard various ships, including service in Korea in 1951, with his last posting being in Shearwater. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 161, Gaetz Brook, for the past 30 years. Vince is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, the former Doris Alma Parker; sons, Barry (Maureen), Robert (Holly); daughters, Linda (Cliff) Myrer, Marilyn (Paul) Graham, Darlene (Wayne) Crowell; grandchildren, Carrie, Tammy, Billy, Farrah, Michael, Dennis, Kristin, Jenny; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Ashley, Nicky, Amber, Alyssa, Jordan; sisters, Venita (Johnny) Charlton, Patsy Sharpe, Sheila Conrod; brother, Robert Wells; daughter-in-law, Linda Marr; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Janet; brothers, William, Gerald, Ronald; adoptive father, William Wells "Uncle Bill". He will be missed by his campground friends and card playing buddies. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. There will be a Legion tribute service 2 p.m. Thursday in Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 161, Gaetz Brook. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Vince's memory to Canadian Marfan Association, P.O.
