McHATTEN, MARY-ANN ASHTON (EVANS) Mary-Ann Ashton (Evans) McHatten of Fredericton, devoted wife of Fraser McHatten Jr, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in South Hampton, NB. She was the daughter of the late Evan Evans and Lena (Martin) Evans. Mary-Ann Ashton was a member of the First Congregational Church of Fredericton, where she served as an elder. Her life was centered on serving the lord. She was well known for her love of family, friends and her greatest joy were her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband Fraser; her three daughters Dixi Coady (Mike) of Bashaw, Ab; Janet Toole (Dwight) of Fredericton Junction, NB; Catherine Webb (Bruce) of New Maryland, NB; one step-sister Hannah Tozer of Hawkshaw,NB; six grandchildren; Evan and Patrick Coady, Kyle and Ashton Toole and Sarah and Rebecca Webb; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; one step-brother Murray Joyce and four step-sisters Mair McGrath, Morfy Evans, Bronwen Chapmen and Magan Brooks. Visitation will be held from York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton NB on Tuesday September 20, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be from First Congregational Church of Fredericton on Wednesday September 21, 2005 at 2pm with Rev. Dr. Brad Little officiating. Burial will be held in the Barony Cemetery, Dumfries, NB. For those who wish, remembrances to the First Congregational Church of Fredericton Building Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
