HOWELL, HERBERT H. The passing of Herbert Henry Howell of Upper Kingsclear, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 20, 2005. He was 84. Born October 26, 1920 in England, he was a son of the late Charles and Eva (Ward) Howell. Herbert was a very active member of the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church where he was an Honorary Deacon. He served his church faithfully, teaching Sunday School and at one time was Sunday School Superintendent as well as being an active choir member and Youth Group Leader. Herbert served with the R.C.A.F. during WWII. He was a carpenter by trade having worked at Base Gagetown as a carpenter. He also farmed and owned a lumber mill where he would employ as many young men in the community as possible. At one time, he owned and operated Howell's General Store. He retired from School District No. 18 where he was employed as a school bus driver. He is survived by Frances (Hood) Howell, his loving and devoted wife of 63 years; he will be sadly missed by his children, Beth Grass (Larry) of Lake George, Wendy Hood (Alton) of Magundy, Keith Howell (Jane) of Upper Kingsclear, Lorna Donahue (Leon) of New Market, NB, Charles Howell (Susan) of Upper Kingsclear, Paul Howell (Carol Joy) of Hanwell, Donna Newton (Russ) of Upper Kingsclear and Robert Howell (Elaine) of Lincoln, NB; 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a sister, Cicely Kilburn of Calgary and a brother Ralph Howell (Vera) of Silverwood; numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church on Thursday, September 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the church on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 2:30 PM. Rev. Eugene Morell will officiate. Pallbearers will be six grandsons. Interment in the Kingsclear Baptist Cemetery. The family has suggested memorial contributions be sent to the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church or Life Outreach International (Water for Life).
