Mrs. Maxine Louise Hayes (née Wiliams), RN December 07, 1951 - September 18, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) HAYES, Louise Maxine (RN) - 53. It is with much regret and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, devoted grandmother and wonderful friend, on September 18, 2005, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Myrtle (Collicutt) Williams. Louise attended the Yarmouth School of Nursing from where she graduated in 1973, becoming a registered nurse. She spent her nursing career in Halifax at the Camp Hill Medical Centre, then later moved to the Abbie Lane, where she would have retired in January 2007. She was an avid bingo player, she loved to cross stitch, but most of all loved to spend time with her granddaughter Mikayla. Louise is survived by daughters, Christina (Jason Clarke) Hayes, Lower Sackville; Jaclyn, Lower Sackville; son, Jeffrey, Lower Sackville; granddaughter, Mikayla; sisters, Bev (Ian) Horne, Hilda (John) Binder, Heather (Graham) Ells, Linda (Eric) Swindell, Joan (Fred) Borden, and Kathy Townsend; brothers, Gordon (Linda) Williams, Charlie (Anita) Williams, Robbie (Michelle) Williams, Johnny (Chrystal) Williams; lots of nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Gregory. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, and funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII.
