Vera Caroline Boyd (née Ralph) January 08, 1913 - September 18, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home * BOYD......Vera Caroline, CALGARY/WINDSOR, NS - passed away on Sunday, September 18th, 2005, in Calgary Alberta. Born January 8th, 1913, at Thompson Station, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of late James and Viola (Matheson) Ralph. Married in 1940 to Earl Edwin Boyd (1905-1968) they had four children. She taught school for 43 years in various sections of Nova Scotia. Twenty-three years of her teaching career were in Windsor Academy and Windsor Regional High. Five years she taught in Edgehill School for Girls. After retirement in 1975, she moved to High River, Alberta. She visited relatives and friends in the Windsor area nearly each year since moving west. She is survived by sons, David (Joan), High River, Alberta; Bill (Ellen), Kentville, NS; daughters, Bonnie Sutherland (Neil), Calgary Alberta; and Dorothy Burback (Duane), Kamloops BC; sister, Ola Tattrie–Fast, Truro; eight grandchildren, Bill, Krista, Cathy, Jeff, Jade, Lennon, Jennifer and Courtney; three great-grandchildren, Cailin, Emma, and Trinity. She was predeceased by husband, Earl Edwin Boyd (February 11, 1968); sister, Dorothy Ralph; and granddaughter, Kimberley Boyd. Visitation Thursday 7-9 p.m. in the Chapel of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Funeral service, 2 p.m. Friday, September 23rd, 2005, Windsor United Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeffrey White and Rev. John Boyd officiating. Family Interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. No flowers by request.
