Edward Samuel Cronk June 13, 1914 - September 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with deep sadness that Alice announces the passing of Edward, her husband of 59 years. Ed was born in 1914 in Elm Creek, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg at the age of seven, where he lived the rest of his life. Ed worked in the Cordite Plant during the Second World War, and later for Canadian national Railways. Ed loved traveling and visited many places with Alice, including Great Britain, Russia, China, Hawaii and Mexico. At home, playing cards was a favourite pastime. Since suffering a stroke Ed resided at the Misericordia and Riverview Health Centre. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife Alice (nee Antymis) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Emma and Elsie and his brother Wesley. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 22 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment and reception to follow. Alice would like to express her appreciation to the staff at the Misericordia and Riverview Health Centre, Unit 4D, for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Wpg., MB R2L 1X3 or to a charity of choice.
