Mr. Warren "Bud" Edward Smiley April 25, 1945 - September 21, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home (Ancaster Chapel) With great sadness the family announces the passing of Bud on September 21, 2005, in his 60th year. Born on April 25th, 1945 in Kitchener to his late parents Gladys (Wahl) Smiley Grant and Joseph Smiley. Cherished husband of Lynne for 35 years. Loving father of Heather and Adam. Predeceased by father-in-law Lou Baril, stepfather James Grant, and brother-in-law Nicholas Boldt. Lovingly remembered by his sister Marilyn Boldt of Kitchener; brother Robert “Skip” (Nancy) Smiley of Edmonton; mother-in-law Evelyn Baril and brother-in-law Tom of Toronto; nephew John; nieces Jane (Paul), Lisa (Sheldon) and Stephanie (Tory); as well as an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. As a youth and adult, Bud was involved and supported the YMCA, particularly the camping and outdoor/leadership education programs. For over 30 years he was a dedicated Professor and Coordinator of the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department at Mohawk College. Bud was well respected by colleagues and students for his mentoring skills, knowledge and passion for outdoor recreation. Bud was an active volunteer in a variety of local and provincial recreation and sport organizations including YMCA Wanakita Vision Steering Committee and Sport Hamilton. A special thank you to Dr. Bonnie Loewith, Dr. Eric Greenwald and the staff of MUMC for their compassionate care and support. Cremation has taken place.
