John McLelland January 16, 1921 - September 16, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully on September 16, 2005, at the Victoria Hospital, after a valiant struggle with cancer, John passed away at the age of 84. He was born in Ponoka, Alberta and moved to Manitoba in 1934. John was predeceased by his parents, Duncan & Jean, brother Bill, & beloved wife Marjorie. He is survived by son Russell (wife Dale) & grandchildren Cameron (wife Traci), Amber & Courtney; his loving wife & companion Sylvia; sisters Margaret, Mary & Barbara; sister in-law Romaine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John worked as a barber hairstylist at the Mall Hotel and the Viscount Gort for many years. He was very involved with the Barber’s Assoc throughout his career. Upon retirement he enjoyed his summer home in Gimli, visiting with family in Alberta and United States and traveling to many countries around the world. A memorial service will be held on Monday September 26, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.
