DUNCAN, STEPHEN ALLEN Stephen Allan Duncan passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after a valiant battle with cancer. His courage, strength and fighting spirit extended his time with family, until his passing early in the morning on Sunday, September 25th, 2005. Stephen was born on May 16th 1947, in Moncton NB, the eldest son of George and Ethel Duncan. His passions in life revolved around his family and his extended family of the RCMP. He ended his career as Deputy Commissioner of the North West Region and served 39 years as a proud member of the force, serving in North Battleford, Meadow Lake, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Edmonton, St. Paul, Halifax and Regina. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife Peggy; his daughters Heather (Darren) Johnson, and Terri Duncan of Edmonton AB; his mother Ethel Duncan of Fredericton NB; his brothers Gary (Kathy) and Brian (Nancy) of Fredericton NB, and Brent of Raleigh NC; his sisters-in-law Ann Rowley (Jack) of Saskatoon SK, and Linda Marshall (Dave) of BC. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many cherished friends. He is predeceased by his father George Allen Duncan of Fredericton in 2004. Memorial services will be held at St. Albert Alliance Church, Villenueve Rd., on Friday September 30th at 2:00 pm, RCMP Chaplain Bob Harper officiating. Cremation has taken place and his final resting place will be the RCMP cemetery at Depot in Regina. Special thanks go out to Dr. Sawyer and staff at the Cross Cancer, and Dr. James Bell and staff who never gave up and made it possible for Stephen to be cared for at home where he was most comfortable.
