Brenda Becker McCarthy WASHINGTON, DC - Brenda Becker McCarthy of Washington, DC, widow of the late John William McCarthy (formerly of Moncton) passed away on July 11, 1994. Mrs. McCarthy was born Brenda Becker Wilson on September 19, 1920 in Montreal, PQ. She was attached to the British Naval Mission in the U.S. Capital during World War II, and made her home in the Brookland neighborhood of that city. She worked as a Librarian at Catholic University Library for over 20 years and earned her Graduate Degree in Library Science at that Institution at the age of 52. She is survived by four children George McCarthy, Weaverville, NC; Julia McCarthy, Los Angeles, CA; Kathleen and Brian McCarthy, Staten Island, NY; four grandchildren; brother Robin Wilson, Toronto, ON. Graveside Committal Service to be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, Monday, October 3, 2005, 4pm. Rev. Allison Carroll officiating.
