Jean Elizabeth Shupe June 04, 1930 - September 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) SHUPE, Jean Elizabeth - 75, Dartmouth, passed away September 23, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Beatrice "May" (Mintern) Shupe. Jean worked for many years with London Life until she retired, after which she worked with Chebucto Ford until her passing. Jean was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame (1999-2000) as a member of the Halifax Arcade Ladies Softball Team. She served with 2405 Squadron (Reserves) obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Jean enjoyed life and spending time with her family and her many good friends. She is survived by her brother, Wally (Sarah) Shupe, British Columbia; brother-in-law, Gerald Behan, Dartmouth; nieces, Pam (Andrew) Cullen, Alberta; Joanne (Ken) Rogers, British Columbia; Dawne (David) Campbell, Halifax; nephew, Neal (Shara) Shupe, North West Territories; great-nieces and nephews, Garett, Andrea, and Julie Cullin, Kirk and Mark Behan, Lisa Campbell, Dustin and Logan Shupe, and dear friends, Charlena Murphy, Pubnico, and Lorna Leggette, London, Ont. Jean was predeceased by her her sister, Kathleen "Kay" Behan, and nephew, Buddy Behan. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens and reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Center.
