Everhard Hendrik GROLLE

GROLLE, Ir. Everhard Hendrik In the company of his family, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Loving husband of Vera (nee Volquartz), devoted father to Kaj (Jean) of Ottawa, Frank (Paula) of Regina and Birgitta of Ottawa. Predeceased by his sister Henny (Jack) and brother Gerard. "Farfar" will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Gregory, Karsten, Alex and Kieran; his brothers Hans, and his daughter Marianna (Dan) of Victoria and Frank (Truus) and his nieces and nephews in Holland as well as many special friends. Hendrik emigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1953, settled in Regina where he lived for 46 years and practiced architecture and engineering for 36 years before retiring in 1989. Examples of his work are reflected throughout the Province of Saskatchewan. He was a former President of the Saskatchewan Association of Architects. He represented the Netherlands as Consul in Saskatchewan for 25 years. He supported his community as Chairman of the Globe Theatre in Regina, served on the Regina Planning Commission and the Community College Board. The family greatly appreciates the special care provided by his family physician Dr. Sandy Pollock and many physicians and nurses from the Queensway Carleton Hospital and is very grateful for the caring and support provided by the VON nurses, CCAC, and St. Elisabeth.
