WHITEHORNE, Mary Gwen (Betty) (nee Buttery) Peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2005 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Beloved wife of John (Jack) Whitehorne for 56 years. Dearly loved mother of Susan (Jack Ruyter) of Barrhaven, Lynda (Steve O'Connor) of Munster, Sherry Herring of Kingston and predeceased by her daughter Nancy. Cherished Nanny to Elizabeth, Amanda and Nicholas Ruyter; Brendan, Christopher and Brady O'Connor and Maryann and Carolyn Herring. Fond sister-in-law to Beverly Lawrence (Maury) and Joan Stevens (Eric). Predeceased by her parents Ann and George Buttery and her in-laws Dorothy and Charles Whitehorne. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) Nepean on Monday, September 5, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Those wishing may send donations in her memory to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation.
