KERWIN, Claire Elisabeth R.C.A. Born July 25, 1919 in Chatelet, Belgium. Passed away peacefuly on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at St. Michael's Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Emile Roland and Elisabeth Fremersdorff and her husband George Mace Kerwin. Claire will be sadly missed by her children Michael Kerwin (Jutta Schaaf), Shawn Kerwin (Peter Tabuns), grandson Emile Schaaf Kerwin, family and friends. Claire received the Medal of Merit from the City of Toronto, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy; she exhibited her work in Canada and abroad. Claire was an active volunteer at the Royal Ontario Museum where she drew artifacts for the Discovery Gallery. She was also a member of the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club. Friends may call at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home and Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street (south of Wellesley), Toronto on Tuesday, September 6th from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A complete funeral service will be held in the Coach House Chapel on Wednesday, September 7th at 11 a.m. Parking adjacent to the funeral home. Cremation to follow at St. James' Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Michael's and the Royal Ontario Museum. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 9/4/2005
