DEVER, Walter George, W. Cmdr., R.C.A.F., ret'd Passed away early September 4th, 2005 at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital at age 96. Born in Montreal March 3rd, 1909, the youngest of 13 children of Samuel Dever and Bridget Melody, predeceased in November 2000 by his wife Gretchen (Gay) nee Heidman, father of John, Richard and Dan (Kitty) of Ottawa-Carleton and Susan Nakamichi (Masaki) of Cobourg, grandfather of Janet, Matthew, Stephen, Jason, Jennifer, Eric, Elli, Ken and Mari and great-grandfather of 11. He will be sorely missed by family and numerous relatives and friends who enjoyed his fun loving and generous spirit. Walter was proud of his career with the RCAF 1937-1960, after which he acted as financial director for the United Way of Ottawa, performing as comptroller from 1960-1970. Memorial visitation will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel (2500 Baseline Road) Thursday, September 8th, 2005 commencing at 1 p.m. with the service at 3 p.m. Donations to the Queensway-Carleton Hospital or a charitable organization of your choice would be appreciated.
