HONEYWELL, Eleanor Jean (nee Robinson) Sept. 14, 1919 - Sept. 5, 2005 The Honeywell family sadly announces the death of Jean, their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who died peacefully in her sleep. Jean leaves us to join her beloved husband Bill who died in December 2000. Remembering her with love are her children Bette, Patti and Bill and their spouses John Gordon, Bill Grant and Anne Mactavish. Fondly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law Bev and Helen Robinson and their family and the extended Honeywell family. Jean was predeceased by her mother and father Nellie Rennie and Rev. James Robinson and her brother Grosart. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Jennifer Gordon and her husband Roger Smith, and Erik Gordon and his wife Karen, Andrew and Robert Grant and Leigh, Jessica and Christopher Honeywell. Her great-grandchildren, Gifford and Aili Smith and Noah Gordon will be told stories of their wonderful Great Nana. Jean and Bill were married for 61 years. They met skating at Fisher Park and their life together included Queen's, several mining towns in northern Ontario and Quebec and many happy years in Ottawa. Jean's vivaciousness and sense of humour was always a delight to her friends and family. Jean and Bill had a true and supportive partnership. She was a kind, perceptive woman who taught all of us to care for others and to be involved in all aspects of life and community. Even as Alzheimer's altered the last few years of her life those who loved her could see the twinkle in her lovely blue eyes. We will all miss her love. Jean's family would like to thank the care-givers who made her last years so comfortable - special care-giver Liliane Gagne, the wonderful people at Colonel By Retirement Home and the compassionate, tremendous staff at West End Villa. We appreciate all of you. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa on Friday, September 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Glebe St. James United Church, 650 Lyon Street (at First Ave.), Ottawa on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 11 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery. In remembrance of Jean, please hug a family member or friend. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa Carleton would be appreciated.
