Marjorie Stewart MACLEAN

ROOT, Marjorie S. Marjorie Stewart Root (MacLean), former Nursing Sister, R.C.A.M.C., #14 Canadian General Hospital, died with family at her side, in Ottawa, on September 5, 2005. Much loved husband, Norman Root and her very dear brothers Donald, Hugh and Edward predeceased her. Loving sisters Jean (Jack) and Mary and brothers Albert and Bill (Peggy) and many cherished nieces and nephews survive her. Her son David (Patti) of Kanata and her only grandson Darrell Richard MacLean Root deeply mourn the loss of this kind and indomitable spirit who always saw the best in people, and her surroundings in WWII, across Canada, in the U.S.A., Japan and in Hong Kong. Our warmest thanks to the staff and residents at Extendicare/Starwood for making her last years so enjoyable. Also our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Queensway-Carleton Hospital, Emergency and Level 4 Quad 1. A Memorial Service will be held in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) on Monday, September 12 at 1 p.m. A reception will be held in the Pinecrest Reception Centre followed by interment in Highland Park Cemetery, next to her dear husband Norman.
