Joseph O'DONNELL

O'DONNELL, Reverend Father Joseph Peacefully at Saint Patrick's Home on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the age of 84 years. Born November 28, 1920 at Aylmer, Quebec. Ordained to the Priesthood on February 2, 1949 at Ottawa. Son of the late Thomas O'Donnell and the late Margaret Lochnan. Dear brother of Rev. Father John O'Donnell, Eleanor McDonald, the late Bernard O'Donnell, the late Fred O'Donnell and the late Patricia O'Hara. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Fr. O'Donnell served as Assistant Pastor at St. Mary's and Saint Patrick's Parishes in Ottawa and Pastor at St. Martin's, Martindale, Our Lady of Sorrows, Venosta, St. Peter Celestine, Pakenham, St. Michael's, Corkery, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ottawa, St. Ignatius, Ottawa and Blessed Sacrament, Ottawa. Friends may visit at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 235 Kent St. on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Solemn Translation to St. Patrick's Basilica on Friday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Patrick's Basilica on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Notre-Dame Cemetery. In memoriam donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Retirement Pension Plan for Priests of the Archdiocese of Ottawa would be appreciated by the family.
