DEUTSCH, David (Dovie). At home in Kentfield, California, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, September 15, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Barbara Goodman, dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Pearl and David Tobias, and most loving and devoted father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin and cherished friend. Dovie served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Armed Forces (531st Field Artillery) during the Second World War, demonstrating fortitude, resourcefulness and calm judgment that inspired all who knew him. Dovie's deep love for his family, his warmth and compassion for his friends, his courage in the face of adversity and his exceptional integrity and modesty will be missed by all who knew him. In life, as in death, he exemplified a generosity of spirit that was extraordinary. A memorial service will take place in Kentfield at a time to be announced by the family.
