GOLDSMITH, Sidney (Sid). Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on September 17, 2005 at the age of eighty-three. He leaves behind his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Jeanne, affectionately known as Jimmy, his children: Jacqueline, Catherine (Jerry), Jennifer (Stephen), Geoffrey (Wendy) and Terence, his grandchildren: Shane, Jesse, Christopher, Melissa, Mariah, Gwyneth and Evelyn, his sisters; Ellen and Adele, his brothers Kenneth and Jack. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mabel, by his brother Charles and his sister Dorothy. Sid enlisted in the RCAF and served overseas during World War II. After attending the Ontario College of Art, he joined the National Film Board where he worked as an accomplished animator, director and producer for thirty-six years. The family wishes to thank the VON, the CLSC and the Lakeshore General Hospital (Oncology) for their expert care and their concern. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sid's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice. Resting at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White funeral home, 222 Highway 20 (Cartier exit 49), in Pointe Claire, (514) 483-1870, Wednesday, September 21, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral ceremony to be held Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas a Beckett church, 4320 Ste.
