JAMIESON, Ruth Valerie (Hopkins) On Sunday, September 25, 2005 in her 92nd year at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital, Ottawa. Beloved wife and soulmate of Cecil Albert Jamieson, P.H.D. (deceased). Loving mother of Valerie York (Vancouver), Sandra Morra (Mississauga) and Catherine Jamieson (Ottawa). Fond mother-in-law of Norman Morra. Proud grandmother of Kenneth (Erica) and David Bowes, Andrea (Kelly Lang) and Stephen Morra and James Jamieson. Delighted great-grandmother of Olivia, Kai and Ava Bowes and Benjamin, Jordan and Eli Lang. Survived by her brother Joseph Hopkins of Peterborough. Ruth valued her independence and drove her car until the spring of this year. She enjoyed team sports, playing tennis and badminton competitively in her younger years and was an active curler to the end of the 2004/5 season. A Charter Member of the Granite Curling Club she was honoured to throw the first rock of the clubs 50th Anniversary Bonspiel, February 2004. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd at Roosevelt Ave., Ottawa on Wednesday, September 28th and Thursday, September 29th from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral Service conducted by Reverend Jan Lougheed of Woodroffe United Church will be held in the Chapel on Friday September 30th at 11 am followed by interment at Pinecrest Cemetery. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the compassionate and professional care of Ruth by Dr. Isserlin, Social Worker Elaine Lovecky and the nursing team of QCH.
