Kenneth STRONG

STRONG, Kenneth Born July 14, 1929 at Perth, Ont. Peacefully in Renfrew Hospital on Friday, September 23, 2005, surrounded by his family, Ken went to be with his Lord and Saviour, whom he dearly loved. A brave and loving man, Ken continued to smile and accept each new day throughout his two year struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Precedeased by his first wife, Willa, beloved father of Genevieve, Donald (Cathy) and Christopher, cherished grandfather to Amy-Lea, Joshua, Kyle and Felicia, adoring great-grandfather to Melanie. Loving and devoted husband of Shirley (Brown), special stepfather to Patricia Stephens-Brown, special grandpa to Matt, Andrew and Samantha. Survived and fondly remembered by his sisters and brothers, he will be missed by many. Special thanks to the nursing staff at RVH in Renfrew, the ALS Society, and the support team at the Rehab Centre. The family will receive friends at the McPhail & Perkins Funeral Home, 85 Munro Ave. at Lorne, Renfrew, on Saturday, October 1st from 12 noon to 2 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Ken's life will follow in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society of Ontario or to the Salvation Army (Childs Sponsorship) to which Ken was a faithful and devoted member, would be appreciated by the family.
