LAMY, Jean Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) WWII Veteran RCA 4th Medium Peacefully at home on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Lillian, dear father of Francoise (Chris) and Christine (Derek). Very proud Grand-Papa of Michel, Renee, D'Arcy and Madison. Brother of Jacqueline and Denise and of the late Maurice and Marcelle. Lt. Col. Lamy served overseas with the 4th Medium Artillery from 1942 to 1946 and served in the permanent forces until 1967. He then started a second career with the Royal Canadian Legion, where he became National Secretary. He retired in 1982 and enjoyed many years as a member of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club. A memorial gathering will be held at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Saturday, October 1, 2005 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Words of Remembrance to occur at 12 noon. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
