ROE, Verna Laverna Miriam Hamblen, at St. Mary's of the Lake, on September 26, 2005. Verna was predeceased by her husbands Hillis Roe and Harry Maneilly, and her parents Donald and Flora Hamblen. Verna is survived by her daughter Joyce (Eric) Wills of Smiths Falls; her grandsons Kevin (Krista) Earl of Kingston and Greg (Jenn) Earl of Smiths Falls; and by her great-grandchildren William and Gabrielle Earl. She also leaves her sisters Betty (and the late Arnold) Lundy of Grandview, WA, USA; Beryl (John) Beckett of Pelee Island and her brother Bill (Margot) of Brockville. She also leaves many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Drive, Kingston on Friday, September 30, between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Strathcona Park Presbyterian Church (244 McMahon Avenue, Kingston) on Saturday, October 1 at 10 a.m. Rev. Job van Hartingsveldt officiating. Family and friends in the Bishops Mills area are invited to visitation at St. Andrews United Church, Bishops Mills at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 1. Interment will follow at Bishops Mills Cemetery. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be available at St. Andrews Church Hall after the interment. Donations to Strathcona Park Presbyterian Church or St. Andrews United Church (c/o RR#2 Oxford Station K2G 1T0) would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
