ROGERS, Darryl Edward, (1960 - 2005) Peacefully, on Saturday, September 10, 2005 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Beloved husband of Nancy and devoted father of David. Cherished son of Edward and Margaret Rogers and special son-in-law of Emi l and Eleanor Barkwell. Much loved brother of Brian (Barbara) Rogers and Dawn (Kenny) Long. Very special uncle to Paul Rogers and Jeffrey and Darren Long. Brother-in-law of George (Monica) Barkwell, Karen (Dave) Pearson, Barbara (Bert Williamson) Ben nett and Pamela (David) Gifford. Also survived by seven nieces, five nephews and two great-nephews in the Barkwell family. Darryl was employed for over 20 years by the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation. He was a seasoned golfer who was proud to see his nephew, Jeff, make a career out of the game. His greatest joys were travelling, spending time with his family and seeing David grow into a fine, young man. Darryl was a wonderful person who made everyone he came in contact with feel speci al. He will be sadly missed for his kind heart, his gentle manner and his love of life and his family. Special thanks to Dr. Parveen Wasi, Dr. Roger Rose, Dr. Martin Samosh, Dr. Sandra Hartman, Nurses Muggs and Nancy, and the Staff of the Blood Disor der Unit at McMaster Hospital for their exceptional care during Darryl's illness. Sincere thanks to family and friends whose love and support gave us strength during this most difficult time. The family will receive friends at the KARL A. HAMMOND FUN ERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold, on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation.
