Anna BUTRYN

BUTRYN, Anna, The family of Anna Butryn sadly announce her passing. Mrs. Butryn died peacefully at Upper Canada Lodge on Thursday, October 6, 2005. She was in her 97th year. Mrs. Butryn came to Canada from Poland in 1929 and settled in St. Catharine s, where she met and married her husband John. They had a small fruit farm on Carleton Street and operated a grocery store for many years, on Arthur Street, in Port Weller. Mrs. Butryn was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, where she belo nged to The Rosary Society. As well, she and husband John, were founding members of The Polish Canadian Society. Mrs. Butryn is predeceased by husband John, son Edward and her brother Theodore Soroczynski. She will be lovingly remembered by son Mauri ce Alexander and his wife Louise and by daughter Ann Middleton. Mrs. Butryn will be sadly missed by grandson Greg Middleton and his wife Rita and grandson Mark. As well, she will be missed by granddaughter Maureen Gordon and husband Billy and her gra nddaugther Holly and granddaughter Karen Crocker and husband Rob and her great grandson Alexander and her granddaughter Annette Atkins and husband Bob and her great granddaughter Holly. Mrs. Butryn is also survived by loving sister Pauline Opolko and husband Mike of Toronto, many nieces and nephews, as well as grandson Christopher Butryn, son of her late son Edward. Friends will be received at the PATRICK DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL (39 Court Street, St. Catharines) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Rosary prayers to be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2pm. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (50 Oblate Street, St. Catharines) at 10am.
