Innocenzo Diliberatore October 23, 1926 - October 12, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) DiLIBERATORE, Innocenzo - October 23, 1926 - October 12, 2005, died peacefully at home after many years of fighting heart disease. Born in Notaresco, Italy, he was a son of the late Atillio and Beatrice (Ferri). He immigrated to Canada in 1953, and raised his family working as a bricklayer, a trade learned at his father's side and worked for 30 years for Sulya Masonry until his retirement in 1991. He was a life member of the Bricklayers Union; the fruits of his labour and proud workmanship stand in many areas of Halifax and Nova Scotia. He was an avid gardener and passionate soccer fan, and his homemade wine was second to none. He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his beloved wife, Egea; children, Miria (Gerry Chisholm), Franco (Cindy Connors) and Christopher (Shirley), who have many cherished memories of a lifetime of love. He shared this love with grandchildren, Justin, Nicole and Drew; stepgrandson, Aaron, along with many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. He joins his parents and brothers, Bernardo and Antonio, in his rest. Innocenzo will be remembered for his love of family, friends, and his ever present sense of humour. During the past few years he received very compassionate care from Dr. Patrick Somers, Dr. Elizabeth Mann, and the staff of the Emergency Services of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. The family has a special thank you for the care and patience of Roslyn Benoit of the Heart Failure Clinic at the Dixon Centre. Flowers welcome or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, at 10 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Church, 26 Purcell's Cove Rd., Archbishop James Hayes Emeritus officiating.
