Mr. Peter Frederick Timberlake November 02, 1924 - October 14, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) TIMBERLAKE, Peter Frederick - 80, Porters Lake, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2005. Born in Hastings, England, he was the son of the late George (Fred) and Annie Timberlake, and was predeceased by his sisters, Winnie and Jean (Hastings, England). Loving husband to Rose for 46 years, formerly of Penrith, England, who passed away in 1991. He will be deeply missed by his children, Tony, Port Alberni, B.C., and grandchildren Lisa and Devin; Alan, Prince George, B.C., wife Jan and grandchildren Sara and Jacob; Gary, Fredericton, N.B., wife Mary and grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon; Lyn, Porters Lake, husband Steven and grandson Douglas; nieces and nephews in England. Peter was a Second World War veteran with the British Royal Navy and employee of the BBC prior to immigrating to Canada. Peter held several positions with the Canadian Marconi Company, the Canadian Broadcasting Company-Engineering Headquarters, and Radio Canada International. He retired in 1989 as the Plant Manager of the RCI transmitting station, Sackville, N.B. After retirement, Peter and Rose enjoyed time living in Prince Edward Island, making many close friends. For the past 10 years, Peter made his home with his daughter, Lyn and her family in Porters Lake. Peter enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and annual vacations in Cuba with his daughter. His devotion to the Orenda Canoe Club and its paddlers will be sadly missed. To the paddlers, remember "Just Do Your Best". Peter and his family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Dartmouth General, the VG Site, QEII and the Dickson Building who cared for him. A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Thursday, October 20, at 2 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Reception to follow, all welcome.
