Miss Marjorie Eileen Nicholas March 20, 1920 - October 18, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Marjorie Eileen Nicholos age 85, of Amherst passed away suddenly at the Q.E.II Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax, N.S. on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ruby (Foreman) Nicholas. Before retirement, she had been employed by Nova Scotia Power Corporation, Canada Car and by Canada Electric. She was a life-long member of Christ Church, Amherst and a former member of its choir, the A.C.W. and the Altar Guild. She belonged to the Tantramar Chapter of the I.O.D.E. Over her lifetime Marjorie enjoyed cultural events, especially music. Like her father, she was a watercolour artist, and she loved nature, hiking and her garden. She enjoyed sports, especially babminton. When she visited old friends, everyone enjoyed her stories and sense of humour. She is survived by many good friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents and her aunt Gladys Foreman. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 3 p.m. from Christ Church, Amherst with Archdeacon Glenn Eason and Father David Myles officiating, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Interment will take place in the Christ Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Christ Church New Piano Fund, Victorian Order of Nurses or the charity of your choice.
